Photography Group 2 was formed in May 2016 following on from the success of the initial photography group - which was fully subscribed. We meet on the last Friday of each month and enjoy various outings which are then followed by an indoor meeting to review the photos taken over several trips.
Our outing in March 2026 was to the charming town of Petworth - first to visit Newlands House Gallery where an exhibition of the acclaimed photographer Jane Bown's work was on show. Jane is renown for her black and white, naturally lit, portraits of well known cultural figures and celebrities from Samuel Beckett to Queen Elizabeth and Mick Jagger - her philosophy regarding photography is summed up in the first picture shown below. This was followed by a wander through Petworth's historic streets and a tour of Petworth House (National Trust).
