A talk by James Dickinson concerning the Bayeux Tapestry - a 70 metre long medieval embroidery depicting the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.

Its story begins with Harold’s visit to his manor of Bosham on his way to Normandy in around 1064 and ends with the flight of Harold’s English forces from Hastings on 14th October 1066.

For nearly 1,000 years, the tapestry has resided in Bayeux, France but, at present, it is at the British Museum, on loan from this September until July 2027.
