Sissinghurst Castle Garden in July is at its peak, characterized by lush, high-summer abundance, especially in the famed Rose and Cottage Gardens.
Additionally there is the Sissinghurst Summer Fete while we are there. - “A range of children's and family activities inspired by the charm and creativity of Sissinghurst in the 1930s. Join us for craft activities under the gazebo, an all-ages dress up area where you can live out your garden party fantasy, lawn games and nature spotter trails.”
You can visit theTower, home to Vita's Writing Room, to see vast panoramic views of the formal garden, working farm and 450-acre wider estate from the very top.
There are several options for refreshment from tea room to restaurant.
A book shop, plant shop and gift shop give plenty of opportunities for mementos.
